The ANC OR Tambo regional conference in the Eastern Cape, Umtata was a chaos Tuesday afternoon when some representatives disputed election results. The conference which was dogged by allegations of fake delegates did not start on time. There were allegations of fraud raised by the IEC during the voting session. This then resulted to delaying the results. Members forged attendance register during branch meetings. The manipulation of list resulted in some branch members taking the party to court because candidates who had been nominated and elected were removed from the list. The names of the candidates were allegedly relegated to the bottom of the list while other names were allegedly pushed up.Eastern Cape chair main Phumulo Masaulle condemned members who forged attendance registers during branch meetings.

  • " It is not acceptable that in an attendance register you find people who died a long time ago," Masualle said.According to the unverified results the anti Jacob Zuma faction, led by Thandekile Sabisa is said to have been elected to lead the region. The anti Jacob Zuma faction is said to have won the election by one vote from the challenger, William Ngozi. The OR Tambo region is the ANC's biggest in the Eastern Cape and the second biggest nationally, after the Ethekwini region in KZN.Sabisa blasterd some provisional leaders. He said they were interfering in the region and causing unnecessary tensions. He said after the realignment of the region where two of its sub-regions. namely:
  • Ntabakulu
  • Mbizana
were moved to the Alfred Nzo region, there were "opportunistic elements" which created parallel structures that undermined elected leadership. The OR Tambo region is at the centre of the battle between supporters of Zuma and those calling for the president to be removed at the party's December elective conference in Mangaung."Those responsible should be punished possibly expelled from the ANC because they are not candres" said Sabisa in response to the allegations. The controversial list is currently being investigated by African Union Commission chairman Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma.

  1. It seems like the fight of corruption will never end. I really do not understand why the same people who are saying the nation should stop corruption but turn around and do the exact same thing. As PRP'S we should hold a campaign and direct it to the ANC and see if we will not make a difference.

    1. I think people who do this are soo hungry for power and they are willing to do what ever it takes to make it happen, even if it means doing it the wrong way.I couldn't agree with u more when u say the ANC does need the intervention of the PRP'S.They are the only people who can turn things around for the party.

  2. The ANC Women's League is backing a man who has a shocking reputation for polygomy, misogyny and promiscuity, and who has been made to answer many uncomfortable questions about rape previously. That sounds very much like a group of school children proclaiming support for paedophiles, they must be ashamed of themselves. It's no wonder there's not a single reputable member in the the ANC amongst any of its ranks.
